Great Oregon Steamup

Let The Great Oregon Steam-Up transport you back to when steam engines powered industry and cars first appeared on Oregon roads.

FUN FOR EVERYONE!

At the 62-acre Powerland Heritage Park, Steam-Up was awarded the 2022 & 2023 Best Annual Event by the Best of the Willamette Valley. Steam-Up offers something for everyone!

  • Miniature train and trolley rides.

  • Family fun activities include a youth passport hunt with prizes, panning for gold, a firefighting challenge course, fire bucket activities, pedal tractor pulling, and a LEGO display.

  • Fantastic Parade of Power featuring vintage tractors, trucks, steam traction engines, and automobiles.

  • Blacksmith and flour milling demonstrations.

  • A steam-powered sawmill in operation.

  • Demonstrations of old farming methods, including threshing.

  • Logging demonstrations.

  • Fire apparatus on display (fire engines, fire trucks, and fire equipment!)

  • Fourteen different museums to tour, including the new model railroad museum!

  • The Willamette Valley Model Railroad Museum

  • Swap meet and flea market.

  • Music.

  • Food vendors.

AFFORDABLE – BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY! JULY 27-28 & AUGUST 3-4, 2024

  • $17 adults

  • $12 youth (Ager 13-17)

  • Free for kids 12 and under!

  • Free for veterans in uniform or with military I.D.

    $5 parking fee, 100%, goes towards new restrooms on the property.

  • Trolley rides are $5 for adults, $3 for youth ages 3-12, and a Family fare of $20.

Weekends in October

Powerland Halloween

Powerland Halloween 2024 is a non-scary and kid-friendly Halloween Adventure for families! 

It takes place on weekends in October at Powerland Heritage Park in Salem, Oregon. The cost ($18 for adults, $14 for kids) includes the Saving Neverland adventure, a pumpkin to decorate, a Kids’ Activity Center, and a wagon being pulled by a Steam Traction Engine as you hunt for skeletons that are wreaking havoc at Powerland Heritage Park! 

Dates:  Oct 5/6, 12/13, 19/20, 26/27

Time: 10 am – 4 pm

 

The Theme for 2024 is Saving Neverland

A magical power crystal that powers Neverland has been stolen by a gnome! You are tasked with traveling on a Pirate Trolley to find the crystal and bring it back to Neverland before the land disappears forever! 

After your 25-minute Saving Neverland adventure, you’ll find many fun things to do! Ride behind a Steam Traction Engine on a “Skeleton Hunt!” Find them all and spin our prize wheel in the Kids Activity Center! Grab a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch and decorate it, too! 

There are many scary haunted houses but few fun Halloween adventures for kids. We are changing that with a new adventure every year!

S.T.E.A.M.’d Up for Kids

S.T.E.A.M.’d Up for Kids is fun for the entire family! Through S.T.E.A.M. activities, children of all ages will delight in learning about Oregon’s rich agricultural heritage. Rain or shine, wear walking shoes, and prepare to explore our grounds.

Activities

There is a kids’ sandbox, kids’ crafts, making your own catapult, miniature railroad, rope making, blacksmithing, driving a heritage tractor, Steam traction engines, scavenger hunts, wagon rides, and many museums to explore!

Cost

Admission is FREE for children 12 and under and only $10 for ages 13 and older.
Parking is FREE! Trolley rides are $5/each.

Train & Trolley Fest

Join us for the first Train and Trolley Fest at Powerland Heritage Park.

Your admission includes

Father’s Day Special

Make Dad feel like a kid again!!

The Trolley will be open for Father’s Day. 

In honor of Father’s Day, we want him to feel like a kid. All Fathers, Grandfathers, and fathers-to-be ride the trolley for the price of a Youth fare!!

Normal trolley fares: $5 Adults, $3 Youth aged 4-12; 3 and under are free.

Please note that separate admission to Powerland is required.

  •
